ETEA is officially back for the KPK students and it will conduct the MDCAT 2023 at the direction of KMU and the Pakistan medical commission.
There is no such difference between ETEA and MDCAT. ETEA is the conducting body of medical entrance examinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The test for admission to medical and dental colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held on the same day in different centers of the province.
Per the Pakistan Medical Commission’s syllabus and guidelines, the test will consist of a three-hour paper. These decisions were made by a special meeting of the Provincial Admission Committee under the chairmanship of Taimur Saleem Jhagra, the provincial health minister.
The Vice Chancellor of KMU Peshawar, Professor Dr. Zia ul Haq, and other relevant officials also attended. It was decided in the meeting that the subject ETEA will provide paper for the mentioned test according to the Pakistan Medical Commission’s syllabus. KMU will be responsible for setting up the arrangement for the test. The test will occur simultaneously in different cities across the province starting at 11 am and ending at 2 pm.
In regards to the exam, it was also decided that a carbon copy of the test would be provided to students at the end of the paper, along with the key to the test. Furthermore, the data of all students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be procured from the PMC, after which they would be allotted their roll numbers and test centers, with the cost being determined at a later time.
Therefore, it was decided that a meeting must be arranged as soon as possible with the pertinent officials of ETEA, presided over by the secretary of the higher education department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to decide on future courses of action.
